You want the more intuitive interface well you got it with the Nexus 4 and I’ll explain why. The S4 is a nice piece of kit; it’s just that bit overbearing in terms of extra features that don’t quite work (or add value) or maybe I just haven’t mastered the knack (scrolling with your eyes for example)
Took the S4 on holidays with the family and was happy I did. It’s camera features really capture the moments. It certainly excels in HD photos and videos, and is expandable to 64Gb (via SD card). This camera and Video playback is obviously a ton better then the Nexus 4. But that’s where it stops. I look forward to watching the latest episodes of Breaking bad (S509) on the S4.
The Nexus slightly smaller form factor is much more finger friendly for general navigation and in particular for typing. The wider screen ratio of the nexus reminds me of the iPhone’s keyboard, which is probably just a shade better then the Nexus 4.
The Nexus 4 is much quicker for navigation. It is really responsive. The galaxy s4 feels like a snail (well maybe a fast tortoise) in comparison. I reckon the touch wiz interface must add extra ‘drag’.
A week into the holiday I really wanted to ditch the galaxy but stuck with it only for its camera. I was also thinking if it had the vanilla Android OS of would be a lit snappier. The Google Play edition of this phone is available. I need to check if the accompanying camera app is part of the package. But on second thoughts I’d rather keep this shipped OS purely for testing purposes.
So yes the galaxy s4 will become part of my testing stock. Pity though, I really enjoyed it’s camera.
LG any chance of a similar nexus phone but better optics, more memory just for the tech guys at
